Lal Darwaza

Lal Darwaza is a popular urban area located in Hyderabad city. The place lies to the south of the Musi river and stands over what is popularly known as the Old City in Hyderabad. The region is connected by an intermesh of small roads and one major road link called Sardar Patel Road. The region caters to a local population that has been living for years in these parts of the city.

Lal Darwaza features a number of small inhabited localities. There are not but very good figures of techies living here. The small localities can be seen as independent local communities with little to share with the growing popularity of the city. The residential places in and around Lal Darwaza include Gaulipura, Patel Nagar, Bhavani Nagar, Shamsherganj, Boyiguda and Gandhi Nagar. Many of these place share their boundaries and are connected by small roads.

There are few tourist attractions that are located in the vicinity of Lal Darwaza. Off the Kishan Prasad Road in the north, is the popular Falaknuma Palace. The place can also be reached from Lal Darwaza by taking small alternate routes through the localities of the region. This place which was built by an Italian architect and situated on a hill is one of the finest in the city.

Arriving from the city center and on the Sardar Patel Road is situated the Charminar. The symbol of culture and glorious past, Charminar is a great wonder on the way to Lal Darwaza. Not far from the place is located yet another attraction - Mecca Masjid.

Lal Darwaza houses a number of worshipping places that are locally popular. Mahankali Temple, the venue for Bonali procession is one such popular site.
