Location
Nizamabad is located some 203 kilometres north west of Hyderabad
city. The place exists as one popular district centres in the state
of Andhra Pradesh. The place has well established road and railway
link with the capital city, that is Hyderabad. The place forms one
of the peripheral districts and shares its borders with that of the
Maharashtra state and other state regions like Karimnagar and
Adilabad.
Intro
Nizamabad used to be one of the princely states of South India. The
place was named after the Nizam of Hyderabad during its formation as
a district. For a long time, in the past, the region was popular as
Indur. The town used to be ruled by Chalukya dynasty, Tughluq
dynasty, Golconda and later on by the Nizam Kings. The town
possesses rich reserves in the form of forest land and agricultural
production. Confectionery and alchol units are chief industries in

There is an ancient fort located at Nizamabad. This 10th century
fort is a good catch for a tourist who comes looking for something
left behind long ago. There are some ancient artifacts located at
the site. The most visited places in Nizamabad, however, are the
religious sites. Sri Neelakanteshwara Shrine and Sarangapuram Temple
are two famous temples located at Nizamabad. The scene at Ali Sagar
Lake reveals pleasant hillocks and flower gardens at the foothills.
The place also houses Ali Sagar Deer Park which is inhabited by
several species of deer. It serves as a great picnic spot. One prime
industrial area called Bodhan is known to consist some ancient ruins
and of course the largest sugar factory of the state. And as a last
resort the Nizamsagar Dam built over Manjira river withholds modern
excellence and the ubiquitous ambience that invokes the real
feelings of pleasure and joy.
Accessibility
There is a regular bus service from Hyderabad city to Nizamabad.
These buses run over the national highway that connects the two
places. Both government and private buses ply for the region. To
reach to the place sooner one can avail train services. Nizamabad
and Hyderabad are connected by railway lines.
