Tarnaka

Tarnaka is one of the residential areas located in the eastern premises of Hyderabad city. The place is bounded by some major road links like Mallapur Main Road, Krishnadevaraya Road and Lalapet Road. Tarnaka, unlike the rest of the city, is devoid of commercial complexes. The region, however, has one feature that makes it stand out and that is educational institutes.

There are several acknowledged academic institutes located in Tarnaka region. Tarnaka and its adjacent city area Jamia Osmania are card carrying learning centres located in the city. Some popular institutes located in Tarnaka include St.Anns Degree College, Holy Jesus Post Graduate and Degree College, Ponugoti Madavrao College and Sanghi College.

The residential area is, more or less, planned part of the city with small straight roads dividing the area into regular residential plots. These places are provided with local stores and small markets, health care units, schools and cheap restaurants. Krishna restaurant, located in the township is a special treat here.

Tarnaka forms a great residing place for different students and professionals who seek admissions in various academic and professional courses here. The presence of Osmania University and many other college in the nearby region has been responsible for drawing great many students to the place.

The ESI Nacharam and Maithri are two primary health care centers located in the Tarnaka region. The region also has a couple of cinema halls and billiards clubs that provides means of amusement.
